As with most free online rpgs they are gearing  up for an awesome open beta event. They are gonna have prizes and whatnot. So many good things have been added to the website. I’m salivating over the options they are showing for character creation. We will have to see how the game holds up once the client download is done. The download weights in at a whopping 2.2 Gigs.

A quick scan of the website shows Avatar creation, Combat, Progression, Rewards, The fight begins, and Tutorial. These many sections show different parts of the game to get the player familiarized with with them. So far it looks like a very well thought out plan for character progression and a great “non-class” system.

“FURY takes the best elements from MMOs and combines them with the fast action of FPSs. The game will support thousands of players, character growth and customization, a complete ranking and match-making system, and game modes ranging from Bloodbath to Vortex.“

Free Online RPGs << Shadowbane on BitTorrent

So yesterday I got thinking about some of the old games I used to play. Most of them were not Free online rpgs, but I had a lot of fun with them. I remembered just over a year ago Shadowbane became free to play. So I thought I would check it out again.

I had alot of fun with the game when it first came out. My wife and I would team up and play on the starter island slaughtering everything in sight.

Just yesterday news from the Shadowbane site revealed that they have put the client up for download on BitTorrent. Clicky!

It seems perfect timing that I was thinking about playing it again. I’m gonna login and check it out and get back to you with my impressions.

Runescape adds “God Wars Dungeon”

Long-time Free online rpg Runescape has added a new dungeon. This is called the God Wars Dungeon.
   
    “Any adventurer brave, strong or foolish enough can explore the caves,
finding rich rewards for their efforts. Aside          from the godsword – a
two-handed weapon that allows you to change the hilt once it has been
reforged, using a          variety of special attacks – there is a new set of melee armor, a level 70 Ranged and a combination battlestaff for      mages. It is also rumoured that one of the new Slayer creatures in the dungeon may be in possession of a pair of          Dragon Boots!”

Runescape is one of the grandads of free online rpgs, and it’s still whipping out the content.

I’m a fan of watching TV while I’m playing games and I found this great product that lets me do just that. Clicky!

Maple story latest update

Looks like the latest update from maple story added in a bunch of new stuff. The “end of summer” update added new villages, hairstyles and updated Gachapon items. All new update from maplestory. Clicky!

The main site as more info about the game and what it has to offer free online rpgs. It’s been awhile since I checked this game out, but it sure had casual game appeal written all over it.

Most online games have one draw or another, but I’m curious what brings you as players back to a game. Especially a free online rpg. How do these games make you want to come back and play. Thanks for the feedback.

SOE game The Agency to be FTP(Free To Play)

Upcoming Spy game The Agency will be falling into the category of free online rpgs. This is great news to see more big game production companies supporting the free game model. They are dubbing this the ‘velvet rope’ model, which allows free game play with micro transactions.

SOE president said that, “We worked to create a world where adults live out their fantasy of being an elite super agent.” This totally sounds like it’s gonna rule. I don’t know about you, but I love a good spy game. Hopefully it will have some good sneaking/hiding built into it as well. I like being given the option to be sneaky about the situation or just going in guns blazing.

2Moons Update, items, shop, and events

Free online rpgs is in for a treat, 2Moons is rolling up with some awesome updates to their game. They are hard at work to make it one of the years best.

First the online item shop will be going live on Aug. 27th. Here you will be able to deck out your character with the most bad ass upgrades. Through Sunday the 26th till Monday the 27th they are offering double the acclaim coins during this 48 hour period.

Second during special hours the XP will also be doubled for players.

Thirdly they are having weekly random drawings for various prizes. Also during this event period they are giving away logitech gear.

They are just going completely nuts drawing people in to play and test the game, which is a great way to hype up the game and make sure it will be ready to play past the beta period.

Rumble Fighter New Additions

Rumble fighter is a fast paced action arcade game. It is free to download and play, but you can also purchase items for your character. A good choice for a free online rpg if you like fighting games.

New action arcade mmo Lunia has some growing pains with server restarts. It really shows a good sign of growth and how well the support team of an mmo works hard to keep their customer base happy. This is a great pick to add to the list of Free Online RPGs.
